To kick off Valentine’s Day weekend, and to encourage Philadelphian’s to come out again after record-breaking blizzards, Mayor Michael Nutter spontaneously offered to take 10 Good Day viewers to dinner.
Of course, we had to show up to make sure he wasn’t offering just lip service, and sure enough he left a gala he was scheduled to attend, to make our FOX viewer’s his next stop for the evening.
What are you up to this weekend, are you taking advantage of the free parking deals in the city? Happy Valentine’s Day all, and be sure to leave a comment and say hi!

Happy hump day all!!! I wonder if our KL could ask the mayor why he feels he can dish out fines for unshoveled sidewalks when 2 streets over from me, a plow went half-way down the block, backed out then left?? there has been an impassable pile of snow there for a week?? be safe all

Perhaps someone could ask the mayor why people should pay taxes when they don’t receive any services from the city ?
On a lighter note, I don’t know about you guys, but I’m ready for spring.

This has been an interesting year so far.
In early January, I had to get 2 new tires for my SUV.
Ok, these things come up.
But what I paid for the tires was more than I paid for my first car.
And with that realization came the realization that in order for that to have happened, I must’ve had a lot of birthdays.

I had a washer-dryer combo in my kitchen.
The dryer died some time ago, but the washer was still pluggin’ away.
I was gonna run a clothesline from my deck to a tree in the yard……until my landlord cut down the tree.
There’s another tree in my yard, but it’s only about 10 feet away from the deck, and that would be a pretty short clothesline.
It would take about a week to dry a load of laundry.(in between snowstorms)
JT 02.19.10 at 5:46 am
About 2 weeks ago, the washer died.
Right in the middle of doing laundry.
The water wouldn’t drain out.
I thought maybe the drain line was clogged.
In order to get to the back of the washer, I have to move the fridge. The only place to put it is in front of the door.
Then move the W-D away from the wall.
So, I wriggle in to the spot formerly occupied by the fridge, sit down, lean to the back of the washer, turn on my flashlight, and…..YO ! I GOTTA go to the bathroom !
JT 02.19.10 at 5:59 am
Long story short….ok, shortER, the fridge and the W-D were out of place for about a week, while I went to work, shoveled snow, got a new drain line and hooked it up and tried it….nope, ding-dong, the washer’s dead….until last weekend, I dismantled it and got it outta my house.
Now, I’m in the process of patching the holes in the wall where the water came in and went out and the elec and vent lines were, and painting.

During that week, anytime I had to go out, or get something from the fridge, I would have to move the fridge, and sometimes the W_D.
It was like playing appliance chess.
That and the shoveling begat a coupla chiropracter visits.
All those birthdays came into play again.

I was gonna blog about this but, last week, my computer died.
So…..I bought a new computer.
I got it home, set it up….went to hook up my printer…..and……my printer isn’t compatible with Windows 7.
Yesterday, I bought a new printer.
I’m beginning to suspect that I’m single-handedly driving the economy.

While all this was going on, it never occurred to me to wear bright pink “to fight against the gray”.
I’ll leave that up to you, KL.
TGIF.
If all goes according to my plan, come Monday, my kitchen will be painted and I’ll have a new washer and dryer in place and ready for action.
Have a nice weekend, everyone.
