When I was young, I remember sitting at the dinner table one night infront of a plate of chicken wanting so badly to go out to play, instead of hunkering down and eating my dinner as my siblings already had. After complaining that I didn’t really like it anyway, my dad tried to be helpful and suggested, “putting a little bit of salt” on my chicken to make it tastier to eat. It worked! I dashed the chicken on my plate with salt and voila, it tasted really good and I gobbled it up. A little salt on food that didn’t have any on it already, as dad suggested, is perfectly fine but the problem is, there is usually so much salt in the food we eat already that if we add more we are getting a double dose that could be deadly.
Dr. Mike joined me on the 5-Spot today to explain what salt does to us, and why it’s in our best interest to learn to put the shaker down, now. Including me…

I’m glad I ate my stew before the “Ixnay on the Altsay” blog.
Dr. Mike may have a point.
After all, look what salt does to snowmen and slugs.
I just finished reading “Altar of Eden” by James Rollins.
It was excellent.
Like my stew.
How ya holdin’ up in the cold weather, Bob ?
