I was gonna seriously comment on the political parties and how they’ve changed and morphed over the years….
But I just called an old friend of mine, whom I hadn’t heard from in a coupla years, and the reason he hasn’t called is, he has a pool cleaning business in Arizona, and he dropped his cellophone in a pool, and my number was in it and he couldn’t retrieve it, and since we haven’t talked for a few years…..
He assumed I died.

I have always been aware that I’m not immortal, however, I’m having difficulty getting my head around my buddy’s leap of logic.
HE loses HIS cellophone……

I didn’t assume he died; I figured he was up to his normal business, and he was.
Is this a function of age ?
You have a cetain number of birthdays, and if you don’t hear from someone within a certain time frame ( because you have butterfingers with your cellophone ? did this happen BEFORE the cellophone age ?) BOOM ! They’re dead ?

I like to think of myself as a well-adjusted individual (don’t we ALL ?),
and I’ve made some concessions to the aging process….
For example, I’ve come to accept that the hair in my nose and ears is growing at a rate that would make equatorial flora envious…..
But I keep the scissors handy and I bought one of those things that were advertised on late night tv (Deal or Dud ? “Well…..uhhhhhh….I can still see my face….so, I’ll say Deal “.)

After all….
What’s more life-affirming than sticking a vibrating razor trimmer up your nose and having your eyes water more than they did when your grandmother died back in 1963 ?
I guess I should have just let nature take its course and tripped over my nasal hair and become famous and then my old friends would know that I’m alive.
