A lot of commuters awoke to a transportation nightmare this morning. After the excitement of a big Phillies’ win last night, reality kicked in quickly when people realized they had no way to get to work thanks to striking Septa workers.
The Mayor came on the 5-Spot today and used the word “despicable” to describe his thoughts on the fact that Septa workers turned down the offer on the table through their union. Here is our interview with him during our 5 o’clock news, we are interviewing the Governor tonight at 10pm. We will also have full “You Decide 2009″ coverage from the Philadelphia District Attorney race, and the Gubanatorial battle in the Garden State.

Well I was lucky enough to get a ride in yesterday.but took me 2 hours to get home last night! Hopefully they will be a little more organized tonight? I wonder what inning it will be when i walk in tonight? Be safe KLTVers!!!!

I don’t know what the union’s Position is.
I DO know there is 10% unemployment in our nation’s workforce, our economy is shaky at best, many people I know are required to take days off without pay, and others I know are unemployed.
Seems to me like the wrong time to draw a line in the sand.
Going on strike without allowing the membership to vote on the proffered contract ?
I don’t get it.
President Reagan fired the Air Traffic Controllers in 1980 in similar circumstances.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Guv and the Mayor did the same thing.

Not just a regular fish hook but one of those Canadian ones with three barbs on it!!! Dangerously close to our KL’s ears and eyes!!
