On dinner break tonight, Dawn Stensland, John Bolaris and I popped over to the Convention Center Mariott ballroom to support the Project H.O.M.E gala event.
Jon Bon Jovi was honored for all his work with the organization over the years.
The room was packed with many wonderful Philadelphians, there to support this amazing organization that does so much to help *everyone* have a place to call home.
Unfortunately we only had a few minutes, so we sat down at the Del Frisco’s sponsored table we were invited to by Kelly Boyd, and enjoyed the great group of people supporting the event.
Monica Malpass from Channel 6 was also at our table, so we couldn’t resist taking a picture of all of us together. Wish we could have spent more time and watched more of the program, but duty called and the 10 o’clock news wasn’t going to wait for us.
If you can, take just a minute to learn more about Project H.O.M.E and even better, find a way to support their mission: “Ending Homelessness in Philadelphia.”

Great organization led by fan-favorite Jon Bon—right from the Garden State. Unfortunately, you couldn’t stay longer, and that’s because the “hot seat” was getting cold!!!

On Day I, I took my metal detector to the Jersey shore.
Upon arriving, I immediately noticed that quite a few people were jogging on the boardwalk.
I also immediately noticed that none of the joggers were fat.
I pondered this for awhile and came to this conclusion…….
Fat people jog at night.

Thirty cents. A quarter and a nickel.
So, I guess I’ll have to postpone my retirement.
I also realized I find more than that just walking down the street.
I found some cool shells, though.
I didn’t have to buy a metal detector for that.

Hello, all,
I took my metal detector to the Jersey shore again today.
I read somewhere that the best time to treasure hunt at the shore is right after a noreaster.
Because the waves churn up stuff from shipwrecks at sea.
Sometimes whole pirate ships wash ashore, complete with pirates.
And if you catch a pirate, he HAS to tell you were he hid the treasure.
No, wait…..that’s a leprechaun.
I didn’t find any of them, either.

It didn’t rain much, but it was REALLY windy.
I was literally getting sandblasted.
It was a great opportunity to exfoliate, but I was afraid if I took my clothes off, they would blow away.

I found…….
4 plastic shovels
1 plastic rake
1 plastic crab mold
1 plastic lobster mold
1 plastic sieve
And some cool rocks and shells.
What I needed to find was a plastic bucket to carry all that çráp.

I did find a Rapala-like lure about six inches long.
And some kind of a nut in the shell.
I think it was a beech nut. (I’m not joking)
Oh, yeah, and I found a dime.
It was just lying on top of the sand; I didn’t need a metal detector to find it.

So, it looks like I’ll be going back to work tomorrow.
After 2 trips with my metal detector, I have found forty cents, American money.
That’s an average of twenty cents per trip.
Another 1,750 trips and the metal detector will have paid for itself.
Call me cynical, but I’m beginning to suspect that metal detectors weren’t made for people with good math skills.
