Killed For An Ipod

by Kerri-Lee on June 15, 2009 · 4 comments

It was a hot day last week that had me running into Starbucks in search of an ice coffee and a little relief from the heat, when I remembered it had been about a year since one of their workers had been murdered.

I remembered the story well.

Since that fateful day, Beau Zabel’s sweet smiling face has stuck with me, as have his aspirations, and hopes and dreams and how they were violently stolen from him.  A walk home from work that night became the last thing he would ever do, because SOMEONE decided his ipod was worth more than his life.

He was just a block from his apartment when he was murdered.

Despite a feature on “America’s Most Wanted” and a $35,000 reward, no arrests have been made.

Can you help find his killer?  Someone has to know something.

I remember that story very well!! I wish that i could be even a small help but i can not? Unfortunatly, In the course of my day i must venture into places where i want to see and hear everything around me! When i start thinking “its ok! i really want to hear this next song” that poor mans face pops into my head while im pulling out my earbuds!!!

Really tragic story! Only a block away from home. Life taken over an I-pod. I remember that story, and it’s still disturbing how people would take a life for an i-pod,a pair of sneakers,or jewelry. All toys.
