Good Morning!  My friend, and Eagle’s player Jon Dorenbos is in the news….

PLAYERS SAY THEY WERE SCAMMED IN INVESTMENT

A group of former and current NFL players has filed a lawsuit against UBS, saying they were swindled out of money in an investment they made through the Swiss bank.

The plaintiffs in the lawsuit, which was first reported at TMZ.com, include former NFL quarterbacks Drew Bledsoe, Kelly Holcomb, Rick Mirer, Craig Nall, and Alex Van Pelt, current Saints tight end Mark Campbell and current Eagles long snapper Jon Dorenbos.

The lawsuit centers on an investment the players made in a company called Pay by Touch, which allowed consumers to buy products by putting their fingertips on a sensor and  having the cost automatically deducted from their checking accounts. The company shut down without notifying its customers in March. (As a customer who regularly used Pay by Touch at my local grocery store, I’m still annoyed.)

The players say UBS should be held accountable for the money they lost investing in the company because it concealed the criminal past of John Rogers, the founder of Pay by Touch. TMZ reports that Pay by Touch raised $130 million from investors and ended up making $700,000.

Not only is Senator Joe Biden speaking tonight, but Congressman Patrick Murphy will take the stage as well.  And there is yet another significant milestone to note today:  We are 5 days away from Monday’s launch of “The Last Word” on FOX 29 at 11pm.  My producer, the beautiful Megan, was chatting with me about the format of the show and we decided it would resemble a mix of Shep Smith and “TMZ meets politics.”  This could get interesting…

CLICK HERE TO WATCH my interview with Senator Tom Carper from the Convention last night (bear in mind, it’s hard to hear in there, which is why he asked me to repeat his question)

Alright. So that is Marvin Nicolson, a longtime friend from Victoria, BC.  He is Obama’s “National Trip Co-ordinator” (or something like that) and he has a ton of experience, after working with John Kerry during his run for the White House.  Will Marvin GET to the White House this time around?  Bloggers– weigh in.  He’s gambling on the Obama/Biden ticket.  What do you think?

I don’t have any highschool friends working for McCain but in an effort to be “Fair and Balanced” I met the Senator more than once during my time spent in AZ as a college student and as a young journalist early in my career.  I’ll rack my brain… I must know SOMEONE working with the Senator… LOL

Ciao for now, as always, more later.

ALERT: KLTV BLOGGERS!

From, philly.com-
Bolaris asks Fox to hire Alycia

In other Lane/Mendte news, Fox 29 meteorologist John Bolaris, a good friend of Lane’s, has been lobbying station management to hire her there. While it might be a nice ratings stunt to awkwardly pair her at the anchor desk with Stensland, we’re told Lane’s hire there is unlikely.

A Fox 29 spokeswoman says the station has no news at this time.

Meanwhile, Bolaris got a shout-out in an interoffice e-mail sent by Fox 29’s Dave Schratwieser praising the station’s team effort in covering the Mendte/Lane story on Friday. Apparently, Bolaris texted Lane, who got her attorney, Paul Rosen, to do a live hit with Schrat after his news conference.

FOX IS UP TO SOMETHING GOOD! :)
