NY Times: For a Week, McCain Has the Trail to Himself
As Senator Barack Obama headed off for a vacation in Hawaii last week, Senator John McCain was left in the continental United States with the Iowa State Fair to himself.
CNN: Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama get prime time spots
The Democratic National Convention announced its “headline” speakers Sunday, with Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama each getting a starring role in prime time.

Remember me? The Philly News Anchor? (Cheesey photos, I know!) I miss work and am ready to return. This always happens to me, and I love when it does, because it reminds me how much I love my job. I miss talking to all of you about what is going on in the Delaware Valley. But that all changes tonight at 5pm– I’ll be back doing what I love most. Psyched!
After hearing from so many of you, this blog is confusing (agreed) and you can’t tell what I’m writing and what I’m posting from other people or sites, I’m going to try this– writing in italics. That way you will always know what I am saying and what other people’s words are. The other day a friend remarked how he liked that my mom always writes emails in italics and I kind of agreed, so mom, I’m stealing this one from you!

BERNIE MAC
I got up early this morning after getting to bed early last night and I’ve been sifting through news websites and headlines. I have to tell you, one that really shocked and saddened me over the weekend was the passing on Bernie Mac. I used to love during his show when he would address the camera head on and say, “America….” Then he would go into one of his funny dietribes about something. He was amazing in Ocean’s 11 too. I just feel like the world has truly lost a special person and a wonder actor/comedian.

JOHN EDWARDS CONFESSION
(KLTV COVERED THIS WHEN THE SCANDAL FIRST BROKE)
I continue to digest the John Edward’s confession about his affair with Rielle Hunter. Over the weekend, many news programs showed file tape of him denying any such thing and watching his denials, knowing he was blatently lying, kind of makes me sick. It also makes me worried. How many lies are other politicians telling with the straight face that he wore? Is there integrity left in Washington? Who are the “good guys” (and gals) and how can we find out, so they can be voted back. I am personally getting tired of trusting elected officials only to be disappointed by them a few years later. Thoughts? Share.

KLTV scooped the world on the edwards & Vans fish stories!!!! we are all happy you are back! im sick of all elected officials too. i had a great idea!! but alas MS. Halkett was not born here. the US is missing out on our last honest leader!

The Edwards story worries me too…less about integrity in Washington and more about integrity in society.

KL, welcome back! I hope you had a great vacation…sounds like you did.
I agree with you about the Edwards thing. He seemed to be an up and coming, but sometimes those that get to the top quick have the hardest falls. He certainly shouldn’t have done what he did, but he had to be pretty ignorant to think he’d get away with it, especially when under such intense personal scrutiny when running for national office. He’ll have to work out what he did with his family, but blatantly lying to the public about it is what will do him in. At least for now.
Anxious to see the new blog format. Its a terrific site, but I do agree its hard to follow. Especially if JT gets on a roll.

I worked 12 + hours today.
13 + tomorrow.
12 + Wednesday.
I have off this Saturday and my next day off is(ironically) Labor Day.

Welcome back K.L.! Your right. We miss you soooo much! I stopped watching t.v. and actually spent time with my wife and kids. I called out sick ALL week,since you’ve been gone. I sold my HOUSE and moved to a remote island. I tried to get my doctor to freeze me for the week, but my health insurance would’nt cover it.

I guess they somehow believe it’s ok, or they deserve it. I don’t know,but many people put their trust,hopes,and even money to support them,and then only to be let down by the most POWERFUL tool of emotion they have… honesty.
