LOCAL GUY MAKES GOOD (food)
I have been watching faithfully, every Sunday night (or ONDemand) the FoodNetwork Star’s 4th season. I love the challenges, but I also enjoyed it because two of the finalists were local guys.
Well, it just wrapped up, and Camden’s Aaron McCargo won!! So proud

Aaron McCargo, Jr. is bold.
That’s likely why the selection committee chose him last night as winner of The Next Food Network Star.
McCargo, a 37-year-old former cafeteria chef from Camden, beat out nine other competitors for a chance at a “dream job,” the host of his own Food Network show.
Bobby Flay announced in last night’s pre-recorded season finale that McCargo’s show, called Big Daddy’s Kitchen, will premiere Sunday, Aug. 3 at 1:30 p.m.

It’s another hot one.
Back in the Spring, I remember John Bolaris doing a weather report where he said indicators were that it was going to be a very hot summer, and indeed, that forecast has been correct.
I can’t remember a recent summer this hot, or maybe that has been the case and the heat is just getting to me… possible.
Anyway, I’m scouring headlines and websites… I’ll post anything interesting I find.

Hi KL,
I think for the most part (at least where I live in DE) that the weather this summer has been great. Of course there were stretches of hot and humid days, but more often than that the weather been fine. I love hanging out on the deck at night, tiki tourches blazing, and an adult beverage in hand.
Anyway, for you sports fans out there who think Brent Favre is the bad guy in his “comeback” here is a funny link..

Actually, things are looking up. I’m at the family farm for the next few weeks until I move into my new apartment, so free food all around. And, sometimes… even beer. (Blue Moon, anyone? )
Oh, and My MATH FINAL is tomorrow morning. I am can only miss 5 points if I want to make an A in the class (93 or above). If I miss 10 points, I will have an A- in the class. That A- is just like a huge sticker on your forehead that says FAILURE.

That mindset is a huge sticker that says nervous breakdown.
Go in and give it your best shot and let the chips fall where they may.
At some point, you have to develop confidence in your abilities and realize that no one is perfect and some days, the bear bites you.
