Reluctant Renovators

Are you a weekend warrior?

I’ve been one on a number of occasions, in a couple of different homes now.  It’s exciting in the beginning, frustrating and expensive in the middle, and in the end?  You can’t believe how well it turned out and SWEAR it was worth it.

These troubled economic times have many of us scraping together everything we can to buy a fixer upper with the hopes that we can watch some Home and Garden television and turn it into our dream home.

This morning, in NYC, sitting down to brunch with friends and reading the New York Times, the article by Lisa Keys called Reluctant Renovators really hit home.

So tell me– can anyone relate?  I did my kitchen this past winter and WOW, it was trying at best, but the results were wonderful.

Do you have a renovation horror story?  Are you in the middle of trying to make improvements on your home and your wishing, you just learned to live with your avocado matching sink and toilet set?
