Greetings from Las Vegas. I’m sitting by the pool at the Mandalay Bay letting the kids get a last swim in before the 300 mile drive to the Grand Canyon.

Hi Rich.
The Yanks won last night, their 9th consec home win.
The Phils beat the Mets, 8-6, to remain in first place with a one game lead over N.Y. and Florida.
Shane Victorino (the “Flyin’ Hawaiian”) hit a home run.
Did you ever wonder if Victorino was from Washington State, would he be known as the “Walla-Walla Walloper” ?
Neither have I.

I’m back…
You know whats weird is when you’re out in the West, all the games are OVER by 8:00, except those in the far west. That to me is where you really see the time warp. The ESPN “night” games come on around 4:00 out there….
Good trip…I sent KL some more photos from Sedona and Phoenix. Not sure if they’ll get posted. Actually I’m surprised the BlackBerry pics came out as well as they did.

JT, The Yanks didn’t lose a game the whole time I was gone, then they lost the first day I was home. I think they should pay me to go on vacation for the rest of the summer.

Rumor has it that the Phils are looking at Manny.
While they have a VERY talented team, I’ve always thought that an oft overlooked factor in their success is team chemistry.
Adding a prima donna could upset that.
Note to Pat Gillick …..
Pick up a pitcher and let “Manny be Manny” somewhere else.

JT, I really like the Pudge trade. Farnsworth was so inconsistent there was no way to rely on him. The change of scenery might do him some good too. Even if the Yanks don’t sign IRod for next year, I don’t think they lose much letting Farnsworth get away. I think he was almost cut a couple of times last year anyway.

I also agree about Manny. Another outfielder is not at the top of the Phils list. They’d be much better off with another pitching arm, if one is available.
