John Edwards, who has been mentioned as both a possible vice-presidential candidate and candidate for attorney general in a Barack Obama administration has been caught visiting his mistress and her secret love child by the National Enquirer at 2:40 am this morning in a Los Angeles hotel.

KLTV Bloggers– do you believe this? John Edwards has always had a pretty squeaky clean reputation publicly, and has never been part of a scandal like this. Not only that, he has been very supportive of his wife during her ongoing struggle with cancer.
Would this ruin his shot at being on a ticket with Barack Obama? Did he have a shot in the first place?

My thought is that he never had a serious shot to be VP. The Dems tried that in ‘04 and it did not work. He could not even carry his home state. Shocking, especially with everything his wife has battled and the public image they put forth as a family. The Dems are fortunate that he is no longer in public office. It would give the GOP fodder, especially following the Dems utilizing the sex scandals prior to the 2006 election.
