Cartoonist and public speaker (and local Philly guy) Robb Armstrong has a new book coming out about his “Jumpstart” comic strip’s twins. I’ll talk more about that in a minute, but first:

It is HOT, isn’t it? I checked www.philly.com and was sad to learn of a heat-related death. We had a deadly heat wave in June, this is number three of the summer, and it has turned deadly as well.
I hope you are all trying to play it safe and finding ways to stay cool.
I saw many of you “down the shore” this weekend. I tried to take advantage of the cooler temperatures by riding my bike on the boardwalk, I played in the sand with my little guy 
who thought it was way cool to splash mom (the water was freezing) and I caught up with some friends in Longport. I also ran into a whole bunch of FOX 29 viewers– thanks to everyone for saying hello! I loved meeting each and everyone of you, I swear we have we have the friendliest viewers around.

AWESOME Local Guy Makes Good (AGAIN)
I don’t know if I ever blogged about this, but I wrote a children’s book with a storyline about some children who learn the hard way why it’s so important to recycle and never throw trash on the ground. It’s being published by Journey Publications in the upcoming months, and I met with the editor on Friday night. He showed me Philly’s own Robb Armstrong’s new “Jumpstart” comic strip book that he is also publishing featuring, “The Twins!” He gave me a signed “Not For Sale” copy which I am incredibly flattered to have. By the way, Robb Armstrong might be one of the nicest guys I have ever met and his highly successful comic strip still appears in top newspapers all over the country. I have interviewed him several times before, during my time on “Good Day Philadelphia.” His book is coming out soon, so if you have twins in your family or know someone expecting a set of their own it might be a great gift idea.

Hey KL, I’m glad to hear that things with the children’s book worked out! That is so awesome, I can’t wait to see it! It is really HOTT down here as well.
Since I haven’t been paying for a gym membership, I’ve been doing my workouts at my apartment. But that doesn’t cut it for cardio, so I stopped taking the bus and instead I’ve just been walking the whole entire way to class/home.
It’s a nice walk, but I am now probably referred to as “that sweaty kid” in class everyday. Haha!
Oh well.

KL,
Had a similar weekend with my 3 year old down at Dewey. Given the choice between the pool in the development where we were staying or a trek to the beach, he wanted the beach, and like the pushover that I am…the beach it was. Had a great time. I swear he could play all day down by the water.
I am still pushing for beer pong for the Fox 29 night crew. Have a good one!

KL, I do remember you talking about it! That was a while ago, so I’m glad to hear its coming together.
Girlfriend, you OBVIOUSLY did not see my edition of Fox 29’s OFFICE OLYMPICS. Also, I’ve done a few more videos since you’ve probably last seen them. These are with my new videocam, so the quality is much better…
Currently working on a movie short… talk about getting your money’s worth on a good video camera.. (thanks mom!) haha!

The SECOND time I went to college - whenever there was a test question I didn’t know the answer to….
I figured “what the heck” (ok-that’s a CLEAN version of what I figured) and I would put the MOST RIDICULOUS thing I could think of as the answer.
