Trash That Turns Into… Flowers?

I’ll get to the ”seeded plantable paper” in just a second, but first:

————————————–

It’s 10:55pm

The newscast is ending, we are wrapping up weather and getting ready to talk Phillies in sports…  Brett Myers is heading to Triple A, and being a good sport about it.  John Bolaris says– the weekend holiday weather is iffy, but not a wash out, and if you’re going to the beach, the shore points may fare the best.   Stay tuned for more on that, the computer “models” are apparently not clear yet, he’ll know more later in the week.

I may blog when I get home, I may not, but if you are up late, stop by and say hi.  I need to tell you about my Philly Style “photo shoot” tonight….

Ciao for now, KL

———————————–

It’s 5:30pm

We’re in the middle of the newscast!  Remember you can watch by going to www.myfoxphilly.com.  Join us on TV from your computer… LIVE!  And if you tune in right now, you will get to see my traffic hit, yep I do traffic now too!!

I was running around the house doing this and that, and then I heard what sounded like a flock of Canada Geese in my living room.  It was Van!  He was attempting to play my alto saxophone, and actually, he was getting the odd note out of it, pretty good!  Check out the budding musician…

He always sits in that corner to play his instruments… here is a recent guitar solo.

At least it wasn’t a flock of Canada geese… :)

Now, planatable paper.

I was watching Real World/Hollywood the other day.  (Hey, I work late, I need something to On Demand at 1am!)

So, Sarah has dreams of becoming a TV News Anchor, and she went to my school to do it– Arizona State’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism.  cronkite.jpg She might be a couple of years younger than me, but aside from that…

Anyway, here is her report from her blog about a sustainable gas station, where even the postcards at the pumps with recycling tips were made from seeded paper.

That reminded me!

I have gotten invitations in the past that are made of pretty paper, and then I looked closer and realized they are covered in tiny little seeds.  The concept?  If the biodegradable paper blows away and becomes litter, it’s only for a short time.   The gas station cards (and my invitations) would soon turn into wild flowers and beautify the spot they land on.  Is that cool, or what?

Here is a random guy that took his flip cam and shot some video of the Helios Hollywood Gas Station:

[/youtube]I write a “Kerri-Lee Around Town” sort of column for Philadelphia Style Magazine, and I always try to have at least one “green” item, so I think that may the one.  Anyone know any stores around here that you can get seeded paper, or cards from?  I’m on the hunt!  Maybe you want to get yourself some too…Alright, off I go to start my day.  I have a horrible crink in my neck from sleeping in my little guy’s mini-bed last night.  He had a cough that was keeping him up, so I stayed with him but I’m paying for it today… anyone good at giving neck massages?Chat in a bit… KL

I bought invitations from a shop in Emmaus PA that were made of seeded paper, I will try to find the name of it. My guests thought they were really cool and when I tried to plant the card it worked and my thumb is far from green

How can it be real if they know a camera is on them?

I can do the opposite - I can make plants into trash by trying to grow em ..
