A young person, shot senselessly. First, 23 year-old Beau Zabel is gunned down for his Ipod, and during the 5pm we had breaking news about an 18 year-old Strawberry Mansion High School graduate gunned down, and now in the hospital.
We’ll have reaction to this story tonight at 10pm, but violence is out of control on the streets of Philadelphia right now– 6 shootings in a matter or hours? Camden just had their 30th murder today, too. I am not sure what it is going to take, but we need to do something to change attitudes around here, and make people realize guns are not the right way to solve petty problems. Thankfully we have a competant police commissioner who is doing everything he can to take charge of the situation, and try to turn it around.

In Canada, the quiet serene calm of a tiny westcoast island is errupted by yet another severed human foot found floating along the shore, in a running shoe. This is the 5th time this has happened in 11 months. What is your theory? What could possibly be happening here?
(CNN) — A severed human foot was found washed up on an island on the western coast of Canada this week, the fifth detached foot found in the area in the past 11 months, according to local police and media reports.

Hey KL, I have GREAT news… I finally have reliable internet in my apartment! Which means, especially since I don’t have cable TV, I will probably watch your news bits online.
This also means I won’t be going MIA anytime soon since Athens is really lacking in the social department for me.

I can’t imagine the hurt that goes along with all the violence. I only pray that people would realize that life is short,and meant to be enjoyed in all of it’s good pleasures.What a great mistake to express the human soul with such anger and hate.I had to express that.

Macio– wow, inspiring words that make me want to bring as much fun, sunshine, but also reality to this blog. I love having a community, albeit on line, that people come together to celebrate the good and hug through the bad. I have come to know many bloggers on here through their comments, their handles, and their insightful comments. This picture of Obama and his wife on the cover of this magazine is way extreme. Hopefully people will view this as comedy, seems some may see as reality, and that’s where it can get ugly. Come on America! I am going through a backgroud check for a $15 hr. forklift job. If this guy IS as portrayed than our national security is really at risk! How in the WORLD could Obama reach this level of the American dream being portrayed as such, without notice from our professionals in the Department of National Security!
