How shocking was the ouster of Michael Johns? How dumb are the American voters? Michael said the judges unfairly evaluated his performance of “Dream On,” and I agree with him. I never felt Simon Cowell liked him — maybe because Michael has a cooler accent than Simon. Anyway, the vote leaves some obvious dead weight that should be dropping out soon. Syesha Mercado is a diva without the voice to support her ambitions. She will absolutely, positively be the next contestant voted out. She has to be. Her survival this far is ridiculous.
The other contestant not getting a fair shake these days is the other foreigner, Carly Smithson. She is the one female singer with the pipes to be a star, and the judges keep panning her. I admit her choice of songs has been mediocre, but I’m predicting a major rebound after finishing in the bottom three the past two weeks. In fact, the final three will be David Cook, David Archuleta and Carly. If that happens, the voters will have gotten it right this year. Of course, after the Michael Johns vote, can anybody really be sure?

It’s obvious they want Carly out of there. They are devoting a lot more airtime to her husband’s outrageously tattoed face. They know this is a turnoff to the American mainstream voters.
They have made up their minds prior to her singing that they don’t like her. The same way they have made up their minds that they will fawn all over David Archuletta, no matter how he sounds, or no matter how many BEATLES lyrics he forgets.
