70 degrees within reach..2008 hurricane season forecast

Thursday should be the day we reach 70 degrees..front going through in the am should allow our winds to become more westerly through mid-afternoon..this coupled with a decent amount of sunshine should push the mercury to 70..a few places a bit higher…forecast it yourself as long as the wind direction is from the west or southwest we should do it, if our winds shifts to the southeast before 3pm..we might not make it…front to our south will eventually push north and shift the winds back to a more southerly flow…Thursday will be mainly dry..Friday could see a few showers popping up towards later afternoon and evening. Widespread showers and possible t-storm likley on Saturday..with temperatures still very mild…Forecasting a dry Saturday night and most of the day on Sunday before showers return for later Sunday..cooler on Sunday…closer to 59..Monday and Tuesday of next week will be the coolest with daytime highs in the low 50s Monday and never leaving the 40s on Tuesday…There is a chance some places in the Lehigh valley could see some wet snowflakes on Tuesday…dramatic warm up after that for the second half of next week..april 17,18th period.

Hurricane season starts June 1st..and   Dr Grey a leading expert on Hurricane forecasting…is forecasting a very active season….15 named storms should take place this year..8 of which forecast to become hurricanes…the normal would be six.

Also 4 intense hurricanes are predicted..meaning winds of at least 111mph..cat..3..4..and 5.

Most alarming is his prediction of a 45 percent chance of a major strike along the eastern seaboard..the average percentage is 31%.

The key reasons I believe that are leading to this…are the formation of a moderate to strong la nina…which will allow hurricanes to sort of breathe..a better outflow leading to better intensification process…el nino has the opposite affect as it tends to stifle development…and also the atlantic basin ocean temps are above normal..allowing for more latent heat…fuel for hurricanes…I will be watching this closely right through the hurricane season and keep you posted on any changes
